The latest election polling in the United States points to a tight race until the finish for both Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump. The 78-year-old Republican is running for the third time in a row after losing to President Joe Biden after a single term in office while Harris, at 60, could make history as the first woman to win the White House - a country with an almost 250-year history. This election arrives at a particularly tense moment for a country that saw violence in the aftermath of its last presidential election four years ago.
