despite its relatively light monster count, this map winds up feeling pretty substantial. perhaps it's because of the last new monster we'll see, the antaresia elite. it exclusively fires those super-painful blue bolts, has more health than an archvile, and the same pain chance as the vanilla archvile (instead of struggle's increased value). the only thing working in your favor is, as very neatly demonstrated here, the skull they leave behind can't be resurrected by an archvile. other than that you're going to have to make your limited weapons work for you, and none of the higher tier ones come for free. the red key room in particular is your best source of grenades and gets crowded in a hurry after you get that key. how does that strobing light on the vertical pillar work anyway? i thought that was only possible in boom... oh right, i think it might be an animated texture. and you might want to find the leichenfaust secret before getting that megasphere. i kind of dislike the finale though; it's this gimmicky long hallway with a cyberdemon at one end and a bunch of unkillable turrets shooting at you. just keep firing and hope for the best. struggle: antaresian legacy: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/lev... get the demo: https://s3.yrriban.net/doom/strg_map2... source port used: dsda-doom 0.29.3 sound font used: arachno.sf2 complevel: 2
