EA Sports NHL '96 - All-star Season 1 Stars Game 32 | The Stars Held in the Motor City vs Red Wings

Dallas were off to Detroit to play the 2nd-ranked Red Wings for Game 32. Their last meeting in Dallas was a blow-out 7-1 for the Stars so Detroit was looking for a better result. The Red Wings pressed and had good chances. They scored first while short-handed when Vyacheslav Kozlov sent a hard shot top-blocker-side from the bottom of the circle off a great, long pass from Sergei Federov from the other wing. The Stars fought back and responded after about 3 minutes with Mike Modano going top-glove the long way from the corner of the circle off a nicely-timed pass by Kevin Hatcher from down low in the corner. Both goalies were solid and both teams pressed but it was Dallas that scored late to take the lead. Trent Klatt geat Mike Vernon top-blocker-side from the edge of the circle at the hashes off a nice pass from Modano at the other side of the net. The score was 2-1 for Dallas at the 1st intermission and the shots were DAL 11 and DET 15. Dallas overtook Detroit in shots in the 2nd period but only scored once. Modano went top-glove again with a boomer of a shot from the slot off a pass from Derian Hatcher. Dallas was up 3-1 at the 2nd intermission and the shots were DAL 31 and DET 21. The 3rd period was total tighten-up and Detroit pushed to tie it up. They pulled their goalie with a minute to go to try and score but Andy Moog saved a shot by Federov and sent it the length of the ice for a goalie goal with just 32.6 seconds left to seal the deal. That was Andy's third goal of the season. Enjoy!
