Messing around with some ol' Super Mario. Start: 0:29 This setup is a thing. My HVC-001 Famicom is hooked up to a RF-to-VGA hooked up to a VGA-to-HDMI 1:1 converter to the XRGB-mini at 1080p. It's not too bad despite that the colour distortion can be quite bad due to the RF-VGA MTVBox or the aging capacitors in my Famicom or usually the lack of shielding inside the Famicom. I could also try adjusting the Modulator frequency next time. I mean...I would use a VHS Recorder, but errr...I live in a PAL region, so some recorders may not get along with NTSC capture. Or I could just do a AV TRRS mod on a Famicom of course, it's not out of the question. Or getting an AV Famicom. Hmm. --------------------------------------- Some of the settings that were used in this video: IMAGE_MODE: PICTURE Brightness: 25 Gamma: 10 Black: 0 Hue: N/A Saturation: N/A R: 50 G: 50 B: 50 Sharpness: 1 H_SCALER: 7 V_SCALER: 7 OUTPUT_RANGE: FULL The little known so-called "MTVbox" model I have is a RF/composite upscaler, it's not great but it does have a few good things about it: • It's ideal for testing consoles with RF output only. • Allows you to play in 4:3 ratio in 1080p. • Input latancy is there, so is video lag but it's really miniscule. • It's cheap! This only cost me 15 Quid. There's a model that supports S-video, but only knew that after buying this one! sigh I have the S-Video model now and it's 'meh' at best. #HVC001 #famicom #framemeister
