Good day to all! the shave this week will present the soap Challenger by Through the Fire Fine Craft. TTFFC is based in Alanson, MI, USA. Maria Arman, the artisan is also the mastermind behind the Maggard's soap line and the soaps for Blade Grim. The scent is in the middle of the pack. It will not fill your bathroom but it will fragrant enough to refresh you. Challenger offer notes of Lime and Ginger. To my nose, it offers a sweet citrus base rounded with notes of foliage, freshly cut grass. Really nice scent for the summer. You will not find menthol in this soap. The soap base is Tallow and contain Bourbon. See between the first and second pass for a full ingredient list. the soap loads really easily with the synthetic brush. I prefer loading with a brush that has no free water in it. The soap will lather easily on the face and does not require a lot of water to create a luxurious lather that is cushiony and really slick. The residual slickness with this soap has been excellent. It actually matches soaps considered top tier. After a pass, wet the face and you can do a clean up pass without any issues. The post shave on my skin is neutral. No dryness or over the top hydration. The After Shave will be taking care of the skin hydration. it is actually just right. Overall, I am really impressed. With the performance I experienced, I do not know why this soap is not talk about more often. I will be adding soaps from TTFFC for sure. Two thumbs up!
