Nice demonstration of the Coriolis effect: On the northern hemisphere a water flow towards an outlet starts to swirl clockwise, on the southern hemisphere the water swirls counter-clockwise, and on the equator the water flows straight to the outlet - no swirl. At the beginning of the video a brief explanation of the Coriolis effect. P.S. It is questionable whether the short distance to the equator already may cause such a visible effect - nice demonstration of the principle though.
