It's FINALLY Time To REVEAL The Nickel Gap Ceiling In Our BARNDOMINIUM Home

In this video, Greg puts up nickel gap boards in the kitchen, dining room and entry way! He uses a new tool that enables him to put up the boards on his own, which makes installing these with one person doable! It's called a Tongue & Groove Easy Hanger and it's by Cubit Tools- Here's the link if you are interested in checking it out. https://cubittools.com We are building our barndominium - barn house out of wood that we are milling on our own sawmill. If you haven't followed along with our BARN Build, (which is now our barn house build) make sure to check out that series in our playlists. We finished the first slab summer of '23, we milled most of the timbers needed over this past winter/spring, added plumbing, put in a second slab for our garage and now we have started building our barndominium - barnhouse - lodge - our home, with 8 bents going up being the first step in our excitement! After, we secured the bents, we added girts, SIPs, finished the standing seam metal roof, installed our huge, direct set window, installed the doors, the garage doors, framed the outside walls and installed the windows on the first floor, completed the subfloor upstairs, framing the second story walls for windows, installed the windows, completed framing of the interior walls on the second floor, framed a 60 foot wall on the first floor of our barndominium, finished rough in framing for the plumber, framed the mudroom, the pantry and the beginnings of the fireplace. We have now completed the septic system install, including the leach field. We have also completed electrical with a pass from inspection. Insulation is complete now so is the drywall, priming and painting. We are now staining timbers and staining and putting up the nickel gap boards. We have a Woodland Mills HM130 Max sawmill and we live in North Idaho. The sawmill cover / sawmill shed is vital to continue milling for our barn build in the winter months, but it will also be a great way to keep out of the sun during the summer months, and of course all of the rain, in between!
