🔊🎶🗣️ Daytripping out of Belgrade, we first visit the Krušedol Monastery, established in the 16th century, and still in use today by the Serbian Orthodox Church by its monks who live, pray—and run the gift shop where security cameras totally caught us taking photos inside the church. 🤷🏽 From there we drove down the road to the charming town of Sremski Karlovci, hub of local wineries (see next reel); the Four Lions Fountain, baroque icon of the town which promises a return and marriage if you drink from it; the side by side Serbian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches, who take turns with their bell tones; the notable “Gymnasium”—actually a school that renowned #Serbian poet Branko Radičević attended—still in use today; and restaurants serving local specials, pasta with cheese and bacon, and a tomato- and red pepper-based catfish stew. — Daytripping outside Belgrade in #SremskiKarlovci, #Serbia. 🇷🇸#theglobaltripserbia #theglobaltripfood #experienceserbia #visitserbia
