Two of the most important things that make mediators effective are qiute simply "Experience" and the resulting "Instincts" mediators rely on daily. A mediator's job is in part to: Know the important questions needing to be asked in each mediation. Know how to ask the smart questions in the most effective way. Know when to ask the right question and even more importantly, whether to even ask it or not!? At the end of the day, it is not "WHAT a mediator says" that can make a big difference, but rather "HOW the mediator says what they need to say" that can make all of the difference in the world! The case in point was observed by Cecilia Ayebare, a recent university graduate and brand new mediator from Uganda with an amazing thirst to learn.
