Featuring two tracks, it has a bit of a rock flavor, but not nearly as much as the earlier Amalwele Yafuliusha. The first rack features heavy brass while the second picks up a littlre more of a rock flavor with heavier bass. The Green Labels are not well documented. Leonard Koloko mentions the band in passing while discussing the better known Shalawambe. From my research, the Green labels seem to have formed in the late 70's or early 80's. Their first known record, the very Zamrock "Help Me," came out on the Zambia Music Parlour label around 1980. Somehow, they obtained sponsorship by the Zambia National Service, and then released at least six singles on the ZNS private label. The records have green labels and usually feature the Zambia National Service Seal. Eventually, the band fell apart. Some of the members continued the Green Labels band and others broke off to form the band Shalawambe. Both bands produced more music following the break up with both having well known hits in the 80's and 90's. I suspect that the break up was over the stylistic direction of the bad as Shalawambe maintained the more rock style while the Green Labels seem o embrace a more kalindula sound. Surprisingly, both bands survived the turbulent 90's and were in existence, albeit with different members, as late as 2020. Have any info about The Green Labels?
