Peter Juma was popular enough that Teal gave him his own record label. This one is pretty good. Peter Tsotsi Juma (1932 – 2000), born Peter Juma was a Zambian songwriter, singer and musician. Interested in music at a young age, Juma traveled to Tanzania in 1949 in order to pursue a career in music. Juma eventually moved to Kenya to pursue further music opportunities and there met Nashil Pichen Kazembe. Together, they formed the Congo River Kids Band and later the influential The Eagles Lupopo. Juna later returned to Zambia around 1980. In 1981 he signed a record contract with Teal for whom he produced a number of singles through the 1980's. Like many Zambian artists, the 1990's saw the end of his career with the wane of the Zambian music industry. He passed away from complications of Malaria in Kabwe, Zambia in 2000. Fire Family Band is a group that a lot of Zambians who grew up in the late 70's and early 80's would know. They had a bunch of singles on multiple Teal labels and they collaborated with such notable Zambian artists as Peter Juma and M.B. Kado. Of course, they were fostered by the great Nashil Pichen Kazembe, who also produced most of their records. They had at least two albums of their own, 1985's Mulilo and 1987's Mulilo-O-Tuka. It's hard to find specific information about the band online. They were around all the way from the late 70's until the late 80's and likely had more than a few member changes in that time. Very few of the members listed on their 1985 album were present on their 1987 one and the actual members are not listed on their earlier singles.
