This tutorial covers spawning units onto the map during the mission. THIS FIRST LINE IS NOT NEEDED! AT ALL! -There are two "lines of code" that are placed into the trigger. The first one creates a new group name. (I used the name "groupName" as a simple example.) The line says: groupName = CreateGroup EAST; (The semicolon after it tells Arma to consider anything after it a new "line".) THIS IS THE ONLY LINE NEEDED. AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO USE A NAME FOR THE GROUP UNLESS YOU'RE GOING TO REFER TO IT LATER (E.G., GIVE IT WAYPOINTS, ETC.) The second line then spawns a squad into the newly named group. The code for that says: groupName = [getMarkerPos "spawnPoint1", EAST, 10] call BIS_fnc_spawnGroup; And the syntax of that follows this format: nameToUse = [location, side, #ofMembers] call BIS_fnc_spawnGroup Be sure to get familiar with the BIS wiki, found at http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Ma.... You can search for terms like "BIS_fnc_spawnGroup" and learn how they should be used. NOTE: THE WIKI SEEMS OUTDATED ON THIS. IT SAYS YOU NEED TO HAVE A SIDE'S "CENTER" CREATED BEFORE YOU CAN SPAWN UNITS FOR THAT SIDE, BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TRUE IN MY SIMPLE TESTS.
