This is a play-through using Kamen Rider Verde in the PS1 game Kamen Rider Ryuki. Read on below for more information... Verde is an unlockable playable character in this game. ===== About Verde ===== He is essentially a masked super hero with a chameleon theme. He is quite fast in speed and has a useful high jump, however his depletion infliction is slightly low. He has an invisibility card which when used, makes him erm, semi-invisible... I imagine this move is useless against CPU opponents. When he equips his "yoyo" weapon, it gives him a very long ranged move. His "contract monster" is a humanoid chameleon. I do not know anything about this franchise, so that's all I have to say about this character. ===== About Kamen Rider Ryuki ===== This is a good, well-built game for the PS1. The graphics are pretty good and it runs at 60fps... this is impressive for the PS1 standards. From what I can tell, the in-fight character model designs look very accurate to their TV series counterparts. There is a dedicated story mode in the game which I think focuses on the main character. The gameplay consists of a basic fighting system, with the emphasis on the card deck feature. You can use these cards during battle to give you specific powers, such as a special weapon, an support character or a super move... if you've ever played the Touhou 7.5/10.5/12.3 fighters then you'll know what I mean. When using the special move or super move cards, it goes into a short cut-scene (using the in-fight models) demonstrating the opponent getting hit by it... it's quite interesting and funny at times, and really does give it that "dramatic superhero scene" effect. The super moves are definitely the highlight of this game... if a super move card becomes available, it plays a special theme which leads to a song. My guess is that this theme is an official theme of the franchise? The throws (one button is designated for throws) in this game are also cool as well. Most of the music is your typical "superhero-rock" type soundtrack.
