Under 2 hours in-game time is pretty good, at least I feel. I don't like this game as much as Sparkle 2 because the levels get pretty long towards the end as more and more colors come in. With the second game even with more colors later on the levels don't get absurdly long, here, despite my best efforts, the ending levels still take pretty long. The basic strategy is to unlock the Amulet of Simplify by "discovering" four secrets (translation: click something funny) and use that along with the amulet of luck to get big group combos. In Sparkle 1 you are rewarded quite a lot for getting a combo that's 8 or more balls in the group. It's interesting to actually have to manage it that way, no other sphere matching game has that kind of strategy. With low amounts of colors early on the rune meter can sometimes be filled with one or two lucky chain patterns. Three-color levels are just wonderful to play through. Overall not the worst thing in the world. Would rather do this kind of thing with Sparkle 2 (and that is coming) but still fun. Sub 2 Hours RTA is probably possible for someone who's better at playing this game, you can tell that I stumble about just a little bit compared to my usual playing. You could get better luck on many of the levels as well, and maybe the level order (levels at a landmark break the usual order they come in) can make things faster. (A secret between you and me: The original plan I wanted to do with Sparkle 1 was attempting an Amulet of Simplify full run in normal mode deathless. It was looking like a very fun, hard challenge most of the way through, but then there's two two-paths back to back in the late 70s that put an end to that plan. Probably wouldn't even make it to the final level.)
