In the last session, we started with the Overall Introduction to the Nama Sriman Nagara Nayika - Part 1 • Sloka 22_Sriman Nagara Nayika Part 1_Sri L... In this session Sriman Nagara Nayika - Part 2, with Prayers to Acharya Durvasar, we will worship the first 5 of the 25 Praakaarams in Sriman Nagaram from Arya Dwishati. In order to visualize the sacred journey, first think of a familiar example like Preparing to go to Tirumala to worship Sri Venkateswara Swamy. As soon as we make a Sankalpam to plan a visit, that second itself, a sacredness gets inside us. Then, we will eagerly await the day of Journey! Throughout the travel journey, in car or bus, we will keep chanting ‘Govinda’, ‘Govinda’. As soon as we reach the outskirts of Tirumala, we will bow down to the Welcoming Arches, feeling happy that we are entering Tirumala. When we reach the base of the Mountain, the grandeur of 7 Hills will be Divine. As we climb up the mountain from one stage to another we breathe fresh air, seeing birds, cows, deers, monkeys, waterfalls and many sceneries. Finally, when we reach the Sanctum Sanctorum and Darshan Swami, Blessed tears roll down the cheeks and we become speechless in Bliss. Think of such a similar journey here to Sriman Nagaram. There are very many beautiful Vanams, Vatikas, Palaces, Enclosures, Gemstones, Precious metals, Birds, Sceneries, Varieties of Kalpaka Vriksham leading to the Darshan of Sri Lalitambika. The difference in this journey is that we can’t go to Sriman Nagaram in a car or a bus. Out of great karuna, Acharya Durvasar holds our hands and takes us through this Sacred Journey and bestows us the Bhagyam of Darshan of Sriman Nagaram in Arya Dwishati. Acharya Durvasar holds our hands, just like a Grandfather would hold the hands of His Grandchildren! Acharya Durvasar gives us the Darshan of Sriman Nagaram with 25 Enclosures! These 25 Enclosures or Avaranam in Sriman Nagaram are also called as ‘Praakaaram’. Each Praakaaram is presided by 'Adhi Devatas' or 'Yoginis' or 'Shaktis'. Each enclosure is made up of something special! Infact, the 25 Enclosures correspond to 25 Tattvas! Between each Praakaaram, there is space (just like between 2 giant walls). It is called as ‘Praantham’. We must internalize that this is not just any ordinary Nagaram. No ordinary city! Sriman Nagaram is the Sacred Residence of Sri Lalitambika. Hence each enclosure is not just a wall. Crores of Devatas reside in each Avaranam. Sriman Nagaram is Sri Chakram itself. We get the Blessings of worshipping Crores of Devatas by worshipping these Slokas from Arya Dwishati. Acharya Durvasar teaches us that we should bow down and worship each Avarana Devatas and Yogini Devatas. Only with their Blessings in that Avaranam, we can progress further up to Darshan the next Avaranam. Sri Kanchi Paramacharya states that Arya Dwishati is One of the 3 main Scriptures that is Foremost and that every Sadaka must recite in Nithya Parayanam (daily chant). Arya Dwishati, Mooka Pancha Shati and Soundarya Lahari are those 3 scriptures. We seek Acharya’s Grace to Darshan Sriman Nagaram. Ambaal is the Nayika of Sriman Nagaram. Hence Sriman Nagara Nayika!
