Head to the NW of Veilstone for a double battle with Lucas against two Galactic Grunts. I believe you can get TM for Fly from the warehouse that they entered right now, but I skipped it to head straight for Pastoria. Head S out of Veilstone for Route 214, I knew what the next two Gym Leaders were about to use, and my team was perfectly suited - especially for the Fen Badge. Kadabra with an Electric and Grass type move backed up by Luxio and Grotle was fine. Keep heading S, fighting any trainers that you wish. You'll come to the Valor Lakefront which is largely blocked off, and becomes relevant to the story later. Head through to Route 213 and head S, W then NW, fighting more trainers if you wish. You'll arrive in Pastoria City, so heal up and head straight for the Gym. Kadabra with the moveset I gave it is great here. It can use its Stab on Water/Poisons, Grass Knot on Water Grounds or heavier pure Water types and Shock Wave for pretty much anything else. I did kind of forget that Shellos was pure Water (it's Gastrodon that gains the Ground type), the Grass Knot damage confirmed this for me. Crasher Wake leads with Gyarados, which you would think a 4x Super Effective Shockwave might deal with, but the lack of STAB on Kadabra prevents the OHKO by the smallest of margins and Gyarados strikes me back hard. I get in Grotle to set up Stealth Rocks so the Gyarados couldn't come back in, and use Grass type moves to take out the Quagsire. The Floatzel is his ace, so one Intimidate helps weaken it, and I chip away with Gyarados. Luxio evolves after the fight, but as a Luxray would have helped a lot in this fight - especially with the Thunderbolt TM sat there.. You'll get the Fen Badge and Some Brine TMs for beating Crasher Wake. I make my way back to Veilstone to nab that Fly TM I missed in the warehouse then fly back to Pastoria. Talk to the Grunt and head to the E gate where you get another rival battle. STILL a Starly. STILL not a challenge. Why would he not have a Staravia here. Make your way back to Valor Lakefront and just before you reach it you'll be challenged by that Grunt who is there to stall you. You'll meet Cynthia again by the Valor Lakefront and she gives you the Secret Potion to cure the Psyducks on Route 210 of their headache so they'll move. Cynthia turns up again and gives you the Old Charm to give to her Grandma in Celestic Town. I went to check to see if Fantina was back now, but you have to press on to Celestic Town first. To advance you'll need to head to the Great Marsh and speak to the woman just NE of the inside after you pay to get in. She'll give you Defog so you can clear the air up on Route 210 in the N. Grotle evolves into Torterra at level 32 on the W side of this route and learns Earthquake upon evolving, which is a very powerful move to have right now. The double battle with the Raichu and Gyarados is intended that the Raichu diverts any Electric attacks, and becomes more powerful as a result which can deal with half the DisQuake combo. After a few more battles heading NW I arrive in Celestic Town. There's a Grunt blocking the entrance which should be easy to deal with. head inside and you'll see some ruins with three drawings of creatures at the back, and you'll receive Surf from Cynthia's Grandma. The man from Mount Coronet is back when you leave the ruins and he reveals his name to be Cyrus. You can head into the NW house and receive different glasses depending on the time of day. The ones with a slight boost to special attacks are handy for me on Kadabra. Fly back to Hearthstone and enter the Gym. Fantina has returned. You're given basic maths questions as a challenge. Head down the wrong route intentionally if you want extra experience. There's four questions in total, so potentially 8 trainers to face, if you wish. Fantina fights with Ghost types. Drifblim doesn't really want to be fought by a physical attacker as it has Will-O-Wisp and Strength Sap. Thunderbolt from Luxray worked great. Next up is Gengar which you shouldn't underestimate, but I got an anime moment against. It is holding a Colbur Berry to weaken one Dark type attack. It doesn't have Levitate here, so a nice powerful Ground type move will hurt it a lot. Mismagius is her ace which DOES have Levitate (but isn't weak to ground anyway). It has Dazzling Gleam in case you thought about using a Dark type for STAB super effective damge. Beat her for Shadow Claw. Physical Dark is better than Physical Ghost in Gen IV games, they cover the same threats pretty much. Cynthia appears and directs you to Canalave and the part ends. 0:00 - Veilstone City 4:50 - Route 214 12:40 - Valor Lakefront 13:30 - Route 213 16:15 - Pastoria City 17:00 - Pastoria Gym 23:00 - Gym Leader Crasher Wake 30:00 - Back To Veilstone 35:50 - Rival Fight 4 41:30 - The Secret Medicine 46:40 - The Old Charm 53:05 - Route 210 1:11:00 - Celestic Town 1:14:20 - Cyrus Second Encounter 1:15:40 - Hearthstone Gym 1:19:45 - Gym Leader Fantina
