Another great route through one of the best off-road countries in the world, Morocco. Morocco's Secret. In southern Morocco, close to the Western Sahara you can find the Draa valley or Oued Draa as the Moroccans are saying. It's a valley south of the Anti Atlas. You leave the last mountains behind you en from now on it's mostly desert. But we were lucky. The last couple of months it rained a lot and the whole valley was filled with plants and flowers. A great habitat for herds of goats and camels. What an amazing experience. We're a little bit sad. This is the last offroad track we will do in Morocco before we enter Mauritania. We loved Morocco a lot. It's one of the best countries to be off grid, to see the stars in the desert, to be totally on your own. From Tan Tan is tarmac again. The route is about 250 km. You can drive this in 2 days but than you have to push it. The track is bumpy and lots of stones. So take you time to make sure you don't damage your vehicle. There is no food or water available. So take enough water, fuel and food with you. It's not a technical route to drive. You don't need any special offroad driving skills. We use a 12-ton MAN HX60 Expedition Truck, complete with our custom-built living unit. Our truck measures 7.8 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and 3.65 meters high.
