IPCA Innovation Centres are spaces and places for learning and inspiration for the establishment, governance, and management of Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs). IPCAs are lands and waters where Indigenous governments have the primary role in protecting and conserving ecosystems through Indigenous laws, governance, and knowledge systems. Culture and language are at the heart and soul of an IPCA. IPCA Innovation Centres will be regional in scope, emerging wherever there is momentum for IPCAs from coast-to-coast-to-coast. They will be led by Indigenous governments and offer a collaborative space to bring together the best of Indigenous knowledge and modern science to create a better future for all.
