Initiated into music at the age of 7 under Sri K. M. Krishnan Namboothiri, Dr. Dileep Kumar continues his tutelage under the esteemed musician Sri Mangad K. Natesan, a retired Top Grade Staff Artist of All India Radio, Thrissur. He has been attracting a lot of notice in recent years for his impressive concert performances. He comes in the direct sishya parampara of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. His renditions follow chaste carnatic traditions. He is an A Grade artist of AIR. He is a first rank holder in M.A. music and he has also a PhD in music to his credit. His doctoral research focused on "The Concept of Ideal Mind in Thyagaraja Kritis." Dileep Kumar has presented numerous research papers at national and international seminars and has published several research articles in UGC-recognized journals. With over 32 years of experience in Carnatic music performance, Dr. Dileep Kumar has graced numerous prestigious venues across India and abroad.
