Sometimes ATC is busiest when the weather is great! A very busy Pensacola Approach Controller works a mix of military, commercial, and private traffic on a $100 fried shrimp lunch run to Southwest Alabama, Andalusia Airport (79J). Flying our '59 Piper Comanche 250 out of Roscoe Field in West Pensacola. We flew this short cross country VFR. All goes quiet when we change sectors until picking up the CTAF at Andalusia with a few other planes arriving to also go to the on field restaurant. I attempted a practice 180 power off approach and ended up a bit short. Will be practicing these some more soon! Andalusia serves a buffet lunch most weekdays. The menu rotates by the day.
