Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Ford F150, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, part number 39510. To help us get this installed, we're going to be using the Tekonsha Wiring Adapter for Brake Controllers for the Ford F150, part number 22292. This brake controller is going to provide all the braking assist you need when hauling your electric brake trailer. This is going to be an entry-level unit that doesn't have a lot of options but gives you everything you need as far as hauling your railer safely. The Voyager is the most basic model of Tekonsha's line of brake controllers. The Primus is going to offer some more features having an LED display whereas the prodigy models are going to offer an even nicer display and more fine tuning options.This controller provides feedback using the LED on top. It illuminates green when you have a trailer connected. Once your trailer is connected, you can see how much braking force is being applied based on the color of the LED, with green being the lowest braking pressure and red being the highest. It uses proportional braking, which adjusts the braking power to your trailer in relation to how your vehicle is stopping. If you stop nice and slow to an idle, your trailer will also coast slowly behind you. If you're in an emergency stop situation and you're braking hard, your trailer will brake hard as well. There's an adjustment knob on the side so you can fine-tune the maximum amount of braking pressure, which will also adjust the proportional amount that's applied while braking. Green being the lowest and red being the highest. You can see this while holding the manual slider all the way over. Now for an emergency situation or when testing for an output from your brake controller, there's a manual slider on the front. When pushed over, it will gradually increase the amount of braking power to the trailer.It's a plug and play installation using the Tekonsha F150 wiring harness adapter. Let's show you how to get that installed now. To begin our installation, we're going to be looking for our factory wiring connector for our adapter. This can either be located under the dash or sometimes behind the panel here. Now on our particular vehicle here, it's located underneath the dash. As you can see here, our factory wiring connector is located just underneath our driver's steering column. For our reference point, here's our DLC, data link connector, and just to the right of it and up, you'll find your trailer connector. We'll need to trim back some of the tape so we can access it and then pull your connector down. With our connector pulled down, push in on the tab towards the wires, and slide the dust cover off. Now we can plug our wiring harness adapter into the freshly exposed connector.We'll need to find a suitable mounting location for our brake controller. You'll want to pick a spot that's away from your knees or anywhere that you're going to hit it and that also is on a plane of negative 20 degrees with the nose pointing down to 70 degrees with the nose pointing up. We're going to mount ours at about this location. This will keep it high enough so it's out of the way and also it won't be at too extreme of an angle. Using the screws from the kit and a 1/4" socket, thread it in until it's snug. Then we're going to put another screw in the other slotted hole in a similar position as the one we did before. This way we can slide it left and right for more fine adjustments down the road. When you're putting this in, it is a good idea to have the rounded slot on the ear towards the top to maximize the amount of adjustment you'll have when tilting it.Again, using the screws provided in the kit, we're going to thread into the two holes located on the side of the brake controller through the slotted and single hole below the slot on our bracket. We're going to do this for each side of our brake controller. Once they're all in and a little bit snug, you can adjust the angle of your controller to suit how you lik
