2024 Ballater Duck race with giant inflatable ducks along the river Dee in Deeside, Scotland

Giant inflatable ducks racing along the river Dee past Ballater in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on Sunday 2nd June 2024. The ducks are released along the river Dee and flow towards the Ballater Bridge. The winning duck for 2024 was No. 11 Quakkaccino, sponsored by Orka Artisan Café, who also received the winning Quaich and bottle of Lochnagar whisky, kindly donated by the local distillery as part of their support of the Festival. Ballater bridge is also known as the Royal Bridge, as it was opened by Queen Victoria in 1885. The event is also supported by the Quacker Crew of local volunteers, Aboyne Canoe Club who release and guide the ducks, plus Ballater & District Pipe Band, who parade the winning duck through the town to the Green for the presentation. #ballater #deeside #scotland #duckfestival #duckrace
