Vila Autódromo // The Story of a Community | Easy Brazilian Portuguese 24

Learn Portuguese with Brazilian Portuguese! Thank you all for coming back to watch this new episode. The Vila Autódromo was a big community, located in Jacarepagua, near Barra da Tijuca in rio de Janeiro. The community (you don't call them Favelas anymore out of respect) was destroyed because it occupied some space that was needed for the construction of the Olympic Village. The removal was violent and full of conflicts. A small part of the community fought until the utmost and managed to stay on the territory. The prefecture built social housings for them to live in. Dona Maria is an important spokesperson of the community and we had the honour to meet her and hear her story. ► SUBSCRIBE TO EASY LANGUAGES: https://goo.gl/QgH9jK ► FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK:   / easybrazilianportuguese     / easylanguagesstreetinterviews   ► CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE: http://www.easy-languages.org ► SUPPORT OUR PROJECT: http://www.easy-languages.org/support... ► PRODUCED IN COOPERATION WITH: http://www.theglobalexperience.org Easy Languages is an international video project aiming at supporting people worldwide to learn languages through authentic street interviews and expose the street culture of participating partner countries abroad.
