Turn it up, take it easy for a moment and see where you travel. What’s your story? I started playing guitar when I was 12, writing songs came shortly after. I played the folk clubs in and around Edinburgh, and was slowly offered more and more support gigs from there. I toured with Teddy Thompson a couple of years ago, and he offered to produce my debut album. This will be released early 2019. How would you describe the genre? I like to think of it as folk/Americana, although you’ll hear on the album, it’s not any one thing. I think there’s beauty in versatility, especially as a solo act. Influences include Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, Sam Cooke and The Dubliners. What’s the ambition? To keep learning and developing as much as I can really. To keep forging connections with audiences when I play a gig, that’s a unique and unparalleled feeling. It’s a short life, I hope to fill it with as much music as possible. Music aside, what do you like to do? I enjoy long walks, especially in the Autumn. Going to watch the football with my Dad, we’re Hibs fans (for our sins).
