In this week’s vlog I do my best to overcome my stage fright, and show you more of my kitchen, my love of stripes, and share a particular fixation I have with a YouTube video of Jeremy Lee (Chef Proprietor of Quo Vadis, Soho) which involves a gigantic meringue mountain - it’s so joyful. I also show you an enormous platter I found in a brocante, my collection of enamelware and why I love it (the photography in Skye McAlpine’s book ‘A Table for Friends’, says it all). I believe I have found a good space in my house to show fashion - my Jean Muir jacket thrift find, and a seventies t shirt - though watching it back I’m not so sure… I describe the unadulterated pleasure that is Petersham Nurseries, Richmond UK, and how I have stolen (not literally..) a little piece of it in the form of kiwi vines I have planted in my courtyard garden. I go to Bruton and pop into my friend Colette’s studio to show you some of her ceramics and paintings, then take Quincy to the pet shop for her all important treat shopping. Finally, I talk about, then actually make porridge bread - vital for when you need a (nutritious) hit of carbs.
