Crime patrols begin on Alki Beach as Police Chief labels area a 'hotspot'

Following a deadly shooting in the Alki Beach community, Interim Seattle Police Chief Sue Rahr said the Seattle Police Department (SPD) will focus its resources on curbing the repeated violence that is affecting this popular spot for visitors and recreation. No arrests have been made and a motive has not been given. However, the police chief does link gun violence to street racing.
