In 1962, a 'mystery investor' bought a large parcel of land in Central Florida, adjacent to a town that would soon be known as Lake Buena Vista. It was entirely undeveloped but had a lot of potential. It was right next to the land that would one day become Walt Disney World. Just a few years later, Walt Disney flew above this land in his private plane and selected it to be the location of his future park. And soon, a massive land acquisition process began. Disney bought 27,400 acres of land. But they were never able to acquire the key piece of land that was purchased by that mystery investor in 1962. And that parcel of land remained undeveloped for close to 30 years. Until finally, the son of the original investor began a massive development project. And so, Bonnet Creek was born. The missing piece of land that Disney couldn't buy. This is that story.
