See how to remove a broken bolt in this short video from Partzilla.com. Like many of you, John is working in his own shop and socially distancing because of the coronavirus. But he’s still making videos in quarantine. We’ll try a couple of bolt extraction methods. First, we’ll try to remove the broken bolt by welding a nut on the end of the bolt. Then we’ll try it a couple more times, but it’s not going to be enough. We’ll work on drilling a pilot hole into the bolt and then expanding that hole one bit at a time until we can use a hammer and chisel to get the bolt to collapse on itself so we can remove it. After that, we’ll use a Time-Sert to get some new threads in so we can move on with our job. Looking for more little tips?
