History of CEC

The Central European Convention (CEC) was founded in May 1998 in Tuheljske Toplice, Croatia, on the initiative of Thomas Haim, former National Secretary IAESTE AUSTRIA, and Mario Kauzlaric, former National Secretary IAESTE CROATIA. Because of the great success, the CEC is being held twice a year. The main purpose of the CEC is to enhance cooperation between IAESTE local committees in Central Europe and beyond, to coordinate joint projects and to share experience and lessons learned. The focus lies on ameliorating the exchange programme, partnerships with local business and university activities. The CEC is also an important tool for motivation of the volunteers contributing to IAESTE, through administration of the exchange programme, organisation of the summer reception for incoming trainees and many other activitivities. http://cec.iaeste.sk
