The mighty Van Zyls Pass | A tale of family, a JB74 Jimny & an FJ Cruiser

🚙 🇳🇦 Baby Yoda Zook (our fully kitted JB74 Suzuki Jimny) alongside our friend and cousin’s stock-standard FJ Cruiser taking on the legendary Van Zyl’s Pass in Namibia! Both rigs were fully loaded for overlanding – not rock crawling – and each faced the trail in their own way. 🔧 Baby Yoda was built by TrailPod SA, running an EFS MRP 2.5 suspension upgrade, long-range fuel tank, and plenty more mods to handle Africa’s toughest tracks. The FJ, on the other hand, stayed stock but powered through with sheer size and grunt. 🛞 The Twee Spoor tracks with their raised middelmannetjies in the Marienfluss (centre ridges) gave the Jimny a real fight – traction control kept cutting in and out, making every obstacle a battle.
