Hello everyone and welcome to a new video! I think, as everyone, I've been thinking a lot about AI, and it wasn't until I accidentally purchased what I believe to be an AI-drafted or assisted drafted pattern that hasn't been properly tested (again, I can only speculate, but the pattern and the seller have all the tell-tale signs of AI generated patterns) that I realised how it could affect sewing. I had been hunting for a modern dress pattern to make something to go to a wedding. I browsed for a while, and saved the pattern I ended up purchasing. It was on a huge discount for something around £2, so I thought, what's the worst that can happen? If I had gone ahead without really looking at it and thinking about it, I might've wasted hours on trying to make a mock-up fit me and look like I wanted it to. After some research, I found that Etsy seems to be flooded with AI generated patterns, and it got me thinking of the advantages and disadvantages for them. In the end, I would rather support human-made brands, that have studied and perfected their craft, that have carefully curated and tested their patterns.
