For our third episode of #TerraviewTalks, we speak to Niki Wente, a Fifth Generation Winegrower and Viticulture manager at Wente Vineyards. Wente Vineyards is the country's longest-operated family-owned winery. It dates back to 1883, when Carl H. Wente purchased 47 acres of vineyard land in the Livermore Valley. They're known for their traditional and innovative winemaking practices and are on a continuous journey to do better than the day before. Wente is also among 2% of California wineries that are "Certified Sustainable." In this interview, Niki tells us more about their sustainable practices, technology, and the importance of community. 0:07 What's the biggest difference your generation is facing? 1:24 What does 'Certified Sustainable' mean? 3:15 How has climate change impacted the wine production in California? 5:01 New viticultural technologies 6:09 What social responsibility do you have as a wine industry expert? 7:27 One message for the wine community ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit Wente's website https://wentevineyards.com/ Follow Wente on Instagram: https://instagram.com/wente?igshid=ku...
