🎧 Headphones or decent speakers recommended 🎧 Hey everybody and welcome to Day 28! Today it’s ambient time again. In this jam, I’m diving deeper into arps to create slow-moving, immersive textures. The bass layer comes from the Puremagnetics Darklands drone oscillator, while the melodic layer is generated with Verv. Subtle rhythmic motion is provided by two layers of Audiothing Booga. Also a bit of KastlDrum. The low-end pulse is driven by the Erica Synths Kick Drum module, with additional kick and hi-hat elements coming from the RD-6.On top of everything, a Moog Mother-32 arpeggio follows the harmonic structure and glues the whole patch together. This is the first time I’ve worked with a setup like this, so I’m basically learning a new instrument.I want to use #jamuary26 to improve my skills (or maybe even get some in the first place with a setup like this). I’ll probably also touch on techno, a genre I’m not used to at all. The setup is quite complex, but it almost fits into a smallish case. Jamuary will be a proof of concept. Below is an attempt to describe this madness.Questions and suggestions are more than welcome 🙂 Gear used RD-608 (modded Behringer RD-6) Moog – Mother-32 Mooer – A7 (reverb pedal) Amoon – loop pedal KOMA Elektronik – Field Kit Bastl Instruments – Kastl Drum Korg – Monotron Delay Bastl Instruments – ARP Joranalogue – Collide 4 Erica Synths – Kick Drum Doepfer – A-138s Mixer ALM – Pamela’s New Workout Bastl Instruments – Bestie RME – Fireface 400 Ableton Live Novation – Launch Control XL Akai – APC Keys 25 Routing / Patch Modular, Monotron Delay, and Ableton → Bestie → RME Reverb, looper, Kastl Drum → Field Kit → RME Three separate outs of the RD-6 go to RME inputs: BD, hats, and the rest Ableton / RME is used as sequencer, sampler, and mixer. Each channel has three aux sends: SuperPlate, Delay, SpaceBlender. Channel processing BD: saturation, compression Hats: compression, EQ RD-6 mix: SuperPlate, EQ The drum channels are grouped and processed with compression, a looper/delay, and a low-cut filter, routed to a fader on the controller.
