A fig-leaf note in the head of the composition lends the fragrance an earthy and herbal scent that is starkly contrasted by a deep, yet sensual cacao note in the heart. The collaborating perfumers worked to maintain an earthy feel throughout the longevity of the fragrance with a spicy patchouli smell in the mid and vetiver in the base. The vetiver is guessed to not be as concentrated being that it is not as pronounced. Nevertheless, it is slightly noticeable as the fragrance develops on the skin. Cedar wood makes a synthetic contribution which may be the only conventional element this fragrance has to offer. Otherwise, the fragrance, although not admired by many, is irrefutably unique. Does Kokorico live up to the standard set by Le Male? No. Does Kokorico, disregarding Gaultier's history, do the house justice as a designer release? Most certainly.
