HaRGB, Star Trails & Milky Way Astrophotography At The Lighthouse
In this landscape astrophotography adventure I set out with Martijn Jacobs on a freezing but crystal clear Saturday night. We photograph the Great Rift region of the Milky Way, make a star trail for the first time and create an HaRGB (h-alpha + color) deepscape image of the Cygnus region. This beautiful region of the Milky Way is home to some of the best hydrogen alpha targets in the night sky, such as the North America nebula, the Sadr region and the Veil nebula. Besides us complaining about the cold temperatures this is nightscape photography in The Netherlands at its best! I use my Sky Watcher Star Adventurer Star Tracker, Canon 6D DSLR (astromodified), Sigma Art 14-24mm f/2.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Astronomik 12nm H-alpha clip-in filter and the Fuji X-T2 with the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm f/2.0.
