Passage Procession is a kinetic sound installation created by artist Christine Cassano. The bronze castings (called foramina bells) are each hand-formed and unique (fingerprints included). Their suspension cords are each 5ft in length and made of the artist's own spun hair. A gentle push of these 21 pendulums elicits several minutes of bell mediation and serve as a catalyst for witnessing the inherent interconnections between gravity, rhythm and vibration. As the rhythm of these pendulums swing, gravity arranges collisions and bronze foramina oscillate to create infinite arrangements of pitches, tones and resonance. Connections resonate & the swing of rhythms manifests in everything.
