This station is about to be shipped to join several others like it in a multiple-line application. The first position in the station is tapping. This is handled by New Vista's AR Tapping Unit. Its advanced ball screw design ensures that it can run for millions of cycles without downtime or maintenance. The parts are zinc, so a cutting fluid is required. A misting system supplies it. The sloped design along with a blower allow for efficient disposal of chips. At the third position, the threads are "GO" verified by a New Vista STH Thread Unit. A compliant toolholder allows the "GO" gage to accommodate the offset intentionally shown here. The red marked Master Part is designed to pass the "GO" test but fail the "NO GO" test. At the fourth position, the threads are "NO GO" verified by a second New Vista STH Thread Unit, also with a compliant toolholder. The Master Part fails the "NO GO" test and is sorted into the reject bin.
