In 1951, Bedford introduced a new bus and motorcoach chassis to replace its aging Bedford OB model. The SB was to become one of the most numerous buses ever built - 54,000 were manufactured, and they served all over the world in various capacities. One of the most interesting aspects to the SB was the sheer variety of bodywork - the styles ranged from the super-stylish to the very austere. Production ceased in the late 1980s.
