In late 1948, James Whitson & Co., a small UK bus & coach body builder, introduced a new model - the Observation Coach. While the idea was embraced in the US, the UK had very few. But Whitson's was no ordinary observation coach. It was superbly appointed, had a luxurious interior, and was designed as elegantly as possible. There were only 33 built. 10 were for the US Air Force in England. The coaches were built on a wide variety of chassis. Unfortunately, none are known to have survived.
