Kent Hovind's Good Buddy Runs Christian Nationalism

He's also at the forefront of Christian Nationalism in the US and has been for decades. Republican politicians were calling out what a problem it would be for their party if the fundamentalists took it over back in the 70s. They were so right. Specifically one politician said they could not be compromised with because there is no compromise in zealotry. Which is true. We're seeing that play out now. If you aren't with us, you're against us. The left isn't much better either. Both sides are willing to throw anyone out if they have the smallest disagreement on anything. How does Barton play into it? Well he has a 4 year degree from Oral Roberts University, an unaccredited Christian school. He claims this degree makes him a "constitutional law scholar" and therefore an authority on the constitution. The phrase "the separation of church and state is no where in the constitution," comes directly from this guy. He goes around giving talks to try to indoctrinate children and convince parents their rights are being violated. It's all easily debunked nonsense. Somehow though, this guy has spread his message. His poison has moved throughout the entire Republican party so that Christian and Republican are nearly synonymous. I'll leave with my absolute favorite claim by this guy: During the civil war, the south was very Christian PROFESSING, but they didn't read their bibles. The north however, they were all bible reading Christians. It's so funny and verifiably untrue.
