Thank you for visiting our channel! Today, we're making a day trip to Karuizawa, doing so on the back of our recent Niigata 2025 travel series. In this video, we're sharing covering the exploration of a popular mountain resort town with the locals, located just 70 minutes from Tokyo by shinkansen (However, do note that we did this journey via Niigata, which took slightly longer, and involving one shinkansen transfer). We started with a visit to the Kumano Kotai Shrine at Usui Pass, which sits on the border between two prefectures. Next, we strolled down the historic Old Karuizawa Ginza Street, discovered a hidden ramen gem (Chuka-Soba Minoya), and visited Shiraito Waterfall. Finally, we wrapped up with some shopping at the massive Prince Shopping Plaza outlet mall.
