Mac Danzig has been a vegan and a strong animal right activist since 2004 and feels like the vegan diet has really helped him improve with his professional fights. Mac Danzig was also been featured in the documentary called "Forks Over Knives" which demonstrates how and why a whole food, plant based diet is the most optimal diet for people. Many people criticize the raw vegan, 80/10/10 diet for being to low in protein yet the author of "The 80/10/10 Diet", Dr. Douglas Graham, is in his 60's and is surpassing most people in his age group as well as many people outside of it. Dr. Graham has been following the low fat, high carb, raw vegan, 80/10/10 diet for well over 30 years now and has helped many people cure their diseases and become healthy through the use of fruits and vegetables. If people really do get deficient in protein by eating fruits and vegetables, then Dr. Graham would have been nothing but a skeleton, a long time ago! Another power athlete who is on the 80/10/10 diet is a guy named Mike Vlasaty from Fruit & Strength. Mike Vlasaty is a raw vegan power lifter who can lift a ton of weight per body weight.
