Developed by Arc Developments and published by Image Works in 1991 This movie sequel licence is a mash-up of Cabal meets Operation Thunderbolt. The game takes you through key scenes from the movie sequel, shooting up seemingly-endless waves of bad guys, culminating in a showdown with the alien bounty hunter in the slaughter house. As you'll no doubt have figured out, the objective is simple - shoot all the bad guys using your on-screen reticule, avoid innocent civilians, and collect as much ammo as possible. Weapons can be upgraded by shooting them, each of which has increased rate of fire, although so does the rate of ammo consumption. For those wondering how damage works, bullets can hit you regardless of where enemies are positioned, but projectile weapons (knives, grenades and most of the Predator's arsenal) only hurt if they make contact with Harrigan's outline. I'm pretty sure shooting out the lights in the subway reduces enemy accuracy, so I made sure to blow them out whenever possible. While the core gameplay isn't too bad, it has a number of serious bugs that really affect overall enjoyment. You'll notice the health bar glitch out when I collect the flak jacket just before the boss section in the subway, which seems to result in invincibility. The glitch only seemed to rectify itself when I collected another vest in the subsequent level,. The second bug is far more serious, chiefly because it prevents you from beating the game. You're supposed to collect 5 grenades for the grenade launcher in the final level by destroying the alien trophy cases that appear in the Predator ship section, but a bug means you can only ever get a total of 4 (2 from the cases and 2 in the RPG itself). I tried switching on infinite ammo and just shooting the Predator with bullets, but it simply disappears and you're stuck in perpetual limbo - the ending is actually triggered by firing all 5 rockets, not by any amount of damage you inflict. Rather than simply turn on cheats to get infinite rocket ammo or use level skips, I used the WinUAE debugger and updated the memory address for rockets, forcing the game to give me an RPG when shooting the first trophy case. It's not ideal, but it's a much cleaner way to wrap up the video than pausing and typing in the cheat code.
