Day 1, Most Worth Unto You! Introduction Speaking to 26-year-old John Whitmer, the Lord said, “For many times you have desired of me to know that which would be of the most worth unto you.” (Doctrine and Covenants 15:4.) I am certain, that most individuals have asked this question of themselves, “What is of most worth unto me?” In other words, of all things you have faced in your life, study you have done, and revelation you have received, you have asked, as I do every year, what is the most worth for me, right now, in my current situation? We all know that prioritizing our focus is a worthy effort. As we so in our sacred responsibilities, you and I will learn how to help the people in our lives do the same in theirs. Like you, your family and friends receive many messages, instructions, direction, podcast, texts, blogs, from many different sources, sometimes perhaps too many and sometimes too long, and definitely from individuals that may or may not have their best interest in mind. Some individuals, including yourself, may wonder and even struggle to find the answers to these questions: What is the most important thing? Which duties and responsibilities should I be focusing on? And what is of greatest worth for me? Now, priorities will naturally change depending on the situation at a particular moment. For example, when my wife and I faced several hurricanes living in Florida, the most important thing was the safety of my family, ward members, and those in my community. But I want you to take a longer view of your life, and the future lives of those in your family, who learn from you, mostly from your example. So … a question, for you to consider between now and tomorrow. Are your family and friends learning from your example what it means to be a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ?
