"What! SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) has built-in troubleshooting reports?" How to Use SQL Server Management Studio Troubleshooting Reports. Indeed SSMS does have both standard and custom SSRS reports built-in. You simply right-click a given object, select "Reports" from the popup menu and follow the prompts to select from many dozen different report options. Use these troubleshooting reports to check server health including current CPU, IO, and RAM activity. At the server level, you can view how the server is configured. You can see activity including blocking transactions by age and lock count, all transactions, and all sessions. You can run Performance reports that show you the top queries by average or total CPU time and by average or total IO, as well as object and batch execution statistics. You can even build your own custom reports. At the database level, you can view reports on disk usage by table or partition, on all transactions and blocked transactions, and more. ------ Chapter Timestamps (click to jump forward): ---------------------------- 0:00 - Intro 0:17 - What!
