You wait ages for a new video and then two come along at once...! A new Leyland DMU project was long overdue from me so here we are. Featuring no less than seven different user-configurable sound features, each set by a different CV as follows; Choice of 4 different high horns Choice of 4 different low horns Choice of 2 different AWS sounders Choice of 2 different handbrake warning buzzers Choice of 2 different firebells or a fire buzzer Choice of 2 different handbrake on ratchets Choice of 2 different handbrake off ratchets The intention is to expand this selection in future versions as editing time permits. The engine sounds were recorded from a particularly nice raspy unit at Llangollen using two separate mics (engine and exhaust). Demonstrated here are; Door slam (F6) AWS sounder (F20) 2-engine start-up (more starts can be triggered for power-twins etc) Reverser hiss and clunk Passenger doors (F6) Toilet flush (F8) Handbrake warning buzzer (F14) Firebell (F15) Handbrake apply (F16) Handbrake release (F17) Auxiliary heater (F13) Windscreen wipers (F12) Despatch whistle (F10) Right-away buzzer (F11) Playable horns (F2 & F3) Full power departure The model in the video shows you what an OO gauge DMU should sound like, unlike the pitiful efforts in recent factory-fitted releases. It has an EM2 in the body and a single-Dumbo style speaker in the underframe.
