Today is my first ever day back in Edinburgh, Scotland and I'm going to be trying as many traditional Scottish dishes as possible, including the world famous Haggis! Now I know that we are in tourist central on the Royal Mile and that there's probably better food outside the city but I thought it would be a good place to start for any of you visiting Edinburgh for the first time. We tried Haggis, shortbread, meat pie, fish supper (fish and chips), the famous, on infamous, deep fried battered Mars Bar, Cullen Skink and a traditional Scottish dessert called Cranachan. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed eating all this comfort food and it was good to try some Scottish dishes and snacks in the Motherland!
