In this lesson, we begin the compositing phase using Light Groups to refine the final render of the sideboard created in the previous class After rendering and saving the image in EXR format, we move into the Compositor to simulate a realistic post-production workflow. Instead of re-rendering, we work directly from the saved EXR file — giving us full flexibility to adjust lighting at any time. What You’ll Learn in This Lesson How to activate and organize the Compositor workspace How to load and manage an EXR file inside Blender How to visualize Light Group passes using the Viewer Node The correct method to combine light groups using Mix Color (Add mode) How to progressively connect: Butterfly Light Fill Light Key Light Secondary Right and Left Lights How to verify accuracy against the Combined pass Why enabling Denoising Data in View Layer Passes is essential for clean compositing Technical Focus This lesson is entirely workflow-oriented: You will learn how to: Sum light contributions correctly instead of blending them Toggle nodes efficiently to evaluate lighting impact Maintain full control over each lighting contribution Prepare your EXR data for final denoising in post By the end of this first part, all Light Groups will be correctly reassembled inside the Compositor, ready for advanced refinement in Part 2.
