This video is for very early stage shoulder recovery from surgery, injury or repetitive stress. It consists of effective exercises for gaining movement without further straining sensitive structures like the rotator cuff. The exercise are: The swiffer - recommended 2 to 5 min 2 to 3 times per day The Pendulum - recommended 2 to 5 min 2 to 3 times per day The Vanna White - 20 reps every hour (this is a super easy quick exercise) Roll Outs - 3 positions 10 to 20 reps each 2 to 3 times per day Keep in mind that these exercises are for people who have post surgical restrictions on activity or/and are weak enough or in enough pain that lifting their own arm up over their head to do things like wash their hair is not possible. These are the exercises that I usually give on your first appointment with me after surgery. If you can reach over head, these exercises may not be the best ones for you but they could provide some pain relief, so you may want to try them. I do videochat appointments, along with 2 of my colleagues at Comox Physiotherapy Clinic. If you'd like to learn more. Please check out our website: www.comoxphysio.com/telehealth
