What's up again y'all! This video was a long time coming but with finishing off my spring semester in college last week, I have had time to start editing again and I decided to make put this one out and also because it is a longer video compared to my previous uploads. I plan to post more videos this summer so look out for more videos soon! On September 17, 2022, a couple of buddies and I got up bright and early to head over to Candor, NC to see ACWR 900 depart from Aberdeen Carolina & Western's headquarters. We were there for 15-20 minutes before it finally departed meaning the chase was officially on. Us along with dozens of other railfans including Trains Magazine chased 900 between Candor and Charlotte "The Queen City". This was a historical moment because it has been likely decades since any E or F units have gone down that line into Charlotte from the stretch that starts at Star, NC. As the title suggests, ACWR 271 & ACWR 276 were originally from Norfolk Southern as NS 271 & NS 276; then before that, they were NS 4271 & NS 4276. ACWR acquired half of them from NS's OCS train when they sold them off. At this point, 271 & 276 have ran on the system beforehand but this was the first time they were taking the line from Star, NC to Charlotte, NC and you will see in the video where they stopped for photo opportunities AND to change the switch to head to Charlotte. I did not get that process since we decided to hightail it to our next spot where the F units would finally be seen leading. I do not want to get too much into it here but this was one of, if not, my favorite chase so far in my 14 years of railfanning and this video is a good one. So crack out the popcorn and get ready to watch 45 minutes action! That is today's video! Please show some love to this if you liked it! Don't forget to comment, rate, like, and subscribe for more content like this! Also hit that notification bell beside the subscribe button so YOU can be the first one to be notified when a new video comes out! It certainly goes a long way. This is CJ, until next time.
